Questions parents ask
Where is The Nurture Nest?
We are at 5 William Close, Southall, London UB2 4UP, on the Hanwell and Southall border just off Windmill Lane near Three Bridges. Hanwell station (Elizabeth line) is about three quarters of a mile away and there are three drop-off parking bays at the front of the nursery.
What ages do you take?
Children from 9 months to school age. We accept 15 and 30 funded hours for eligible 2, 3 and 4 year olds, and private sessions for all ages.
Is The Nurture Nest only for children with special educational needs?
No. We are an Ofsted-registered day nursery that is SEND-focused and genuinely inclusive: every child benefits from the 1:3 ratio, the sensory room and the individualised programme, whether or not they have a diagnosis.
What are your opening hours?
Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 6:00pm, with nursery sessions running 9:00am to 4:00pm. We are closed at weekends, on bank holidays and for two weeks at Christmas, two at Easter and three in the summer.
How much does it cost?
A full day (9am to 4pm) is £120 and a morning or afternoon session is £60, fully inclusive of our specialist provision. On funded places you pay a SEND Specialist Support Fee instead of session fees: from £80 a week for 15 hours. See our fees and funding page for the full table.
Can I visit before I decide?
Please do. Come to our free Stay & Play on Mondays 10:00–11:30, or message us on WhatsApp on 07909 932193 to book a tour.
What is an early intervention centre?
A setting where education and therapy work hand in hand from the earliest age. Instead of waiting for a diagnosis or a school place, children get speech, language, sensory, social and emotional support woven into ordinary nursery days, when the brain is most able to form new connections.
How do you support a child with a speech and language delay?
Every child has an individual programme. Speech and Language Therapy principles are embedded in daily play, circle time, stories and snack time, and we work alongside any NHS or private therapist already involved. Specialist 1:1 Speech and Language Therapy is available at an additional cost.
Can you help with an EHCP?
Yes. Our founders have years of experience with Ealing’s SEND and Inclusion processes and have supported many families through EHCP applications, referrals and transitions to school.
How do you keep parents updated?
Real-time updates on the EYParent app with photos, videos, learning journals and diaries, plus termly consultations, review meetings and parent workshops on communication, sensory regulation and behaviour.
What should my child wear and bring?
Comfortable, practical clothing for play, a spare change of clothes, sun cream and a hat in warmer months, nappies and wipes, a labelled water or milk bottle and a packed lunch (nut- and seed-free). Logo jumpers can be ordered through the nursery.
Is there parking?
Yes, three designated drop-off and collection bays directly in front of the nursery on William Close.
